„Autoestima“  - Selfesteem

„When we appreciate what we already have and that which resides inside ourselves, when we generously deal with our inner and outer resources and introduce them into the service of the deepest longing of our soul, we create a YES for life and for ourselves”

Supervised by a professor at the University of Cusco, psychologists lead weekly groups with children and adolescents aged 3 to 13. The aim is to strengthen their self-confidence, to improve their communication skills, promote creativity and to enable the implementation of ideas. The parents are involved in the project. The affected communities provide the infrastructure. The 6-month project will be empirically evaluated and standardized. In the long run a practical Manual will be written so that the program can also be implemented in remote villages.

As of June 2013, the project has taken place for the first time with 52 children in Pisac. The project was empirically evaluated through a test with  a scale for "Autoestima" from 0 to 16. At the beginning of the program the children found themselves on the average at level 8 and at the end of the program in November at level 14. A real success!

The program was successfully continued through 2015. We were able to reach many children even in remote mountain villages.
